Only Heaven can be this beautiful…

Since my childhood, I’ve been through many, many churches. Each one is beautiful in it’s own way. But what always struck me as awe-inspiring were the intricate and light-filled stained glass windows that I’d find in some of the older churches I’ve visited. There is a distinct ambiance and feeling that those windows would bring into the space, and I was always intrigued by them.

When I was a young girl, I remember looking up at these big, beautiful, colorful windows and the bright light shining through then, and thinking that Heaven was on the other side. Because only Heaven could be that beautiful. Sitting there in the pew, studying the pictures, somehow I felt closer to God as the warm rays would flow through the colorful glass and fill the church with the distinct light that only stained glass windows can bring.

There are so many things on Earth that when we look at them we are awe-inspired. For me it’s sitting on the shore of Lake Michigan and watching the power of the waves. Or holding a newborn baby and breathing in that precious new-baby smell.

So many things that God created are here for us to not only enjoy now, but to also serve as a reminder that if this broken and evil world can hold so much precious beauty, imagine what Heaven looks like on the other side!

“Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes”

Revelation 7:15-17

If our world can be this beautiful, just imagine what it will look like when He makes all things new. When He wipes away every tear? When there is no more hunger or thirst, or pain?

We can’t know now, but we can look through the stained glass of our world and just imagine what that will be like, and live in hope knowing that it is yet to come!

Stained glass my inspiration behind this little pouch. I designed the laser-engraved pattern to remind us of the beauty of God’s presence, and the hope of Heaven that I saw through stained glass.

A little reminder that while things here in my life are good, nothing can compare to the beauty that is coming ♥️
