Wherever in the world you are reading this, I think we are all in the same boat. Many of us are at home. Some of us have been home for a few weeks, some of us continue to work, but there is no doubt that the world looks a whole lot different than it did a few weeks ago.
I’ve been going through weird stages as I process all of this change. One day I’m sad, one day I’m content. One day I’m grateful. One day I’m anxious. One day I’m feeling empowered and protected. And many days, I feel a combination of any or all of these throughout the day!
A few months ago, I was starting to feel a bit restless. Not necessarily attacked, but just like I had a burden on my heart. I couldn’t explain it, and I wasn’t even sure what it was for.
As I prayed and sought out what God’s Word had to say, I quickly recognized the feeling I was experiencing. It felt like my heart was being prepared for a battle.
Have you ever felt like that? Like everything in your world is fine, you feel close to God, your life is going well. But something inside of you still feels a little unsettled?
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Ephesians 6:13
God tells us in His Word that He will not leave us or forsake us (Joshua 1:9,….He stood in a fiery furnace (Daniel 3) …. He was tempted by the Devil (Matthew 4:1-11)….He doesn’t shy away from battle. (Exodus 14:14, Deuteronomy 20:4, Deuteronomy 3:22, Isaiah 40:31, Joshua 23:10)
As a matter of fact, there are many battles that He fights on our behalf that we can’t even see!
I can’t help but think that as crazy, scary and unsettling everything in this world feels today, that God is up to something BIG. And we already know that He is the King of Kings. The Lord of Lords. And He is on our side. (Psalm 108:13, Psalm 188:6-9, Isaiah 54:17, Romans 8:31, Colossians 1:17)
Whoa. That’s a lot of Scripture I referenced! But bear with me. This is all such good stuff!!!!! (and look them all up, you’ll love them ♥️)
Earlier in the week, as I was battling my own emotions and fighting off fear, I once again felt God preparing me for battle. Not a physical battle, but a Spiritual one.
Friends, this is an opportunity to send the enemy RUNNING!
With families at home, life has slowed down. I’m having conversations with my daughters about faith and salvation. I’m talking to friends on the phone about the truth of God’s Word in these troubling times. I feel like God’s Spirit is getting ready to reach people who were too busy to hear Him. I feel like people who have fallen away are going to be searching for Him through this. What an amazing time to be alive ♥️
I know that I’m ready to put on the full armor. I want to be in a front row seat watching God do amazing things. So I am preparing my heart and reminding myself of how powerful, loving and merciful God truly is.
*commercial break* (but this is SO GOOD!!! I’m super excited to share this!)
Because I’m the type of person who likes to make the things I need, I created something that I can’t wait to share with you. And God’s timing is just PERFECT!
I made this journal a few months ago when I started feeling this stirring. But I never did anything with it. Then I quietly submitted the War Room Prayer Journal to Amazon and it got approved last night! I don’t even have my own copy yet, but I am ready to dig in .
If you’d like to join me, this journal is a 30-day challenge. Each day for the 30, you get a scripture reference that will prepare your heart to seek God and put on His full armor. I believe so strongly that if we fill our minds with God’s Word, we will drown out the noise and confusion that scare us. We will remember who is King, we will pray with sincere hearts and it will send the enemy packing!
Are you ready? Let’s do this!
*Back to the devotional*
While we can’t see the battle, we can all feel it. We might feel anxious, scared and out of control. But we need to let go of that need to control and let God be who we look to for the peace we crave.
He has already overcome when He defeated the grave. And while nothing on this earth is promised to be easy, we look forward instead to what is ahead.
Enter into His presence with intentional prayer, talking to Him about how you feel and seek the supernatural peace that only He can put in your heart.
Don’t let the enemy win this one…he seeks to destroy you, fill you with fear and uncertainty. He wants you to feel out of control and hopeless. But Jesus came to take all of that for us!
Find a quiet place, arm yourself with the truth of God’s Word and enter into His peaceful presence. Let Him fight this battle for you ♥️

I am happy to hear these events are causing you to spend more time with your daughters and having conversations. Conversations that never would have happened if not for the events in the world surrounding the COVID outbreak. I pray that others are doing the same. Eating dinner at home. Talking to each other. Realizing the purse you have, the clothes you wear, your makeup or hair style, have NOTHING to do with what’s important. I bet t he re hasn’t been much shaming or anxiety about daily looks and habits lately. And we are finally realizing that movie starts and sports stars are NOT the people you want on TV telling you what is important about this virus. Just over 35 days ago coronavirus was not a word we knew. We had freedom to walk and visit when and where we wanted. As Americans I think that is what’s most uncomfortable. Being told what we can or cannot do. Like a huge portion of the world is used to, we have no memory of our government controlling if we leave the worse or travel or go to work. And that has changed.
If you fear God, then you don’t have to fear anything else.
Take this time to slow down, evaluate the changes, and remember after we get back to normal (and we will), the things you are learning are important to you. God. Family. Health.
Angie, such words of truth you have written! It’s so neat to see how God prepared and stirred your heart for this time. I truly believe, inspite of these uncertain times, God has “His eye on the sparrow,” and will not leave or forsake us. I So appreciate all the wisdom you share. ❤️
