I received a really nice card in the mail this week that had this written on the front:

“You are loved by God-

Higher than the sky…

Deeper than the ocean…

More than you can imagine…

More than you’ve ever dared to dream.”

Last week after I shared with you how self-conscious I am about my raccoon eyes, I was flooded with emails, texts and even comments in person about how beautiful I am, both inside and out.

I’m not fishing for compliments, I swear! But I will admit, that hearing women setting aside their own awkwardness and being bold enough to tell me to my face that I’m being lied to by Satan really got me fired up this week.

Because sweet friend, we are ALL being lied to!

It makes me mad, and I really hope it gets you good and mad too!

God created each one of us with unique talents, gifts and yes, even physical looks. He doesn’t make mistakes because unlike me, He’s perfect. And everything He makes was intentionally made beautiful by Him!

“ I pray that he may grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power in your inner being through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love” Ephesians 3:16-18 (CSB)

Let me pull out a few parts of this beautiful statement that Paul made while he was in prison in a letter he was writing to churches (I don’t know about you, but I have trouble being positive when I’m going through a rough patch. And here Paul was, saying these things to encourage someone ELSE while he was in a dark and horrible prison! Talk about faithful, phew!!)

Paul is telling us each to look to the Holy Spirit for our power and strength. Not to ourselves. And if we live through faith in Christ Jesus, we will be deeply rooted and established in love. And in that love (that will hopefully spill over into the lives of those around us!) he prays that you will grasp just how unbelievably much God loves YOU!

You are so loved, dear friend. On your good days, your bad days.

  • On those days you wish you were never born, God rejoices in you!

“Whenever you feel unloved, unimportant, or insecure, remember to whom you belong.”
Ephesians 2:19-22

  • When you feel ugly and awkward, God sees you as beautiful!

“You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.”
Song of Solomon 4:7

  • When you feel unworthy of love, God loves you more than anyone else can!

“You are loved more than you will ever know by someone who died to know you.”Romans 5:6

  • When your life is a mess, God has it all under control!

“For I know the plans I have for you.”
Jeremiah 29:11

  • When you are ready to give up, God is still fighting for you!

“The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.”
Exodus 14:14

  • When everyone around you dresses better, has a nicer car, house or job, those things don’t impress God. But you do!

“It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from inside you –the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. That beauty will never disappear and it is worth very much to God.”

1 Peter 3:3-4

Have I convinced you yet? Everything contrary to the points I made above are lies that the enemy is whispering in your ear. He doesn’t want you to acknowledge the love that you have in Christ. He wants nothing more than to see you struggle in your faith and look towards these superficial things for your self-worth. But you won’t find it there.

This week, write down each of these verses on notecards and read them aloud each and every day. You might feel ridiculous doing it, but there is serious power in God’s Words!

Read them out loud so Satan can hear that you mean business! The more you hear God’s promises the more you will believe them…and they are the truth. You are loved. You are beautiful, and I hope you realize that!

If you are struggling with believing lies, please comment below and let me know so I can pray for you. I struggle too! But you don’t have to do it alone. I will write you into my prayer journal and intentionally pray for you and your struggles. We are in this together, friend.

Have a great week, lovely!!

PS: If you haven’t already, you NEED to start your own Bible reading journal. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but it is so important that you are reading your Bible and thinking through what you are reading. I process what I’m reading by writing it all down. And to organize my own thoughts as I read the Bible, I created the Quiet Time Journal. It’s what I use every day and I think you would get a lot of use out of it too. But I can’t do it for you, it’s something you need to do for yourself ☺️
If you are ready to get started, I have some of these on hand and ready to ship!
