“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
The prophet Jeremiah wrote these words to the people he helped lead out of Jerusalem, to exile in Babylon. In the context of this chapter, he was telling them that God wanted them to settle in, live their lives, and trust Him in the process. He also warns them not to pay attention to those who are prophesying in His name, because they are just a distraction to the work God is doing in them.
He wanted their eyes focused on HIM.
When we are living our lives day today, it can be easy to get distracted and kind of put God on the back burner. Then something will unexpectedly through our “normal” into a tailspin, and we look at God wondering what went wrong.
In these moments, God is telling you the same exact thing He told the people in Babylon in those days. He was telling them that they can TRUST HIM, because He has plans for you.
Even when things seem bleak or hopeless, He has hope and a future planned for you. He has a purpose for you.
So we need to keep our eyes focused on Him and set out to not get distracted by the mundane of our everyday lives. We need to live knowing that our lives have divine purpose and share the message of hope with everyone He puts into our path. Because this promise wasn’t just for the Babylonians or just for you, it’s for all of those who put their faith in Him ♥️
I believe that there is so much comfort in God’s Word. I also believe that we need to keep our eyes focused on Him as often as we can. This is why I strive to create beautiful and well-made things that you can use daily as a reminder of what the Bible says to you.
This mug makes remembering this promise easy, as it comes wrapped in the leather band adorned with the message “He has great plans for me. Jeremiah 29:11”
The band is removable making it easy to wash or microwave the mug, so you can use it daily without fear ruining the leather. It is tough and able to withstand water, so go ahead and wipe it clean (or rinse it in running water in case of a major OOPS) It will be fine.
